Strong Team Vorarlberg performance at the prologue of the 73rd Tour of Austria – Konychev and Vermeulen close to the best

Alexander Konychev missed out on his top ten place in the last corner. He had to make corrections on the technically difficult course in St. Pölten over three kilometers. Nevertheless, he finished a strong 16th, six seconds behind winner Cameron Rogers (AUS / Lidl-Trek). Moran Vermeulen also showed a very good performance today as the third best Austrian in 24th place, two seconds behind his team colleague.

All Team Vorarlberg pros finished in the top 50% of the field.

Filippo Ganna (ITA / INEOS-Grenadiers) was the big favorite. However, the time trial world champion was beaten by one second by Australian Rogers.

On Wednesday, the tour really gets underway with the first stage with start and finish in Bad Tatzmannsdorf over 177.9 kilometers.
