Colin Stüssi sprints into the top ten

Team Vorarlberg was again omnipresent today on the first stage of the Tour of Austria with start and finish in Bad Tatzmannsdorf over 178 kilometers. Lukas Rüegg was in the leading group of the day, but was caught again 50 kilometers before the finish. INEOS-Grenadiers really pulled on the throttle today.

In the bunch sprint of the decimated peloton, team leader Colin Stüssi was able to put himself in the limelight today with tenth place. Alexander Konychev finished 17th, Jannis Peter also crossed the finish line in the same time. The stage winner in Burgenland was the Italian Davide de Pretto (Jayco Alula) ahead of the Portuguese Rui Oliveira (UAE Team Emirates) and Niklas Behrens (GER / Lidl Trek).

Team Vorarlberg ranks seventh in the team classification.

On Thursday, the longest stage from Maria Taferl to Steyr over 185 kilometers. Another section for breakaways. Staying alert is the top priority, especially for the overall classification contenders.
