On today’s fourth stage of the Tour of Austria, the young Norwegian Andre Drege from the Coop-Repsol team had a fatal accident. He crashed on the descent from the Grossglockner.
All attempts at resuscitation were unsuccessful. The cycling world is deeply saddened. We at Team Vorarlberg knew Andre quite well, he was an upbeat and extremely fair, great athlete.
Our thoughts are with his family and the Coop-Repsol team.
The stage was completed today, as the information was only announced after the finish. The result is only a minor matter after this sad event.
