Colin Stüssi secures third place overall in the Tour of Rhodes UCI 2.2 after a strong performance on the final stage

Right at the start of the 150-kilometer stage from Rhodes town to Krematis, the pace was high and the peloton was split in two. Colin Stüssi attacked halfway through the race together with Sebastian Schönberger from Team Felt Felbermayr. However, the Astana, Coop-Repsol and ATT-Investments teams caught up with them. On the last climb, a strong group around Colin Stüssi breaks away. Unfortunately, Lukas Meiler, who had not had a good day, missed out on the move.

Stüssi’s fight for the overall classification!
Colin Stüssi was on his own towards the finish. The tour specialist countered all attacks from Astana, ATT-Investments and Felt-Felbermayr and finished seventh overall in the sprint. The winner was the Italian Alessandro Romele (Team Astana), ahead of the Dane Gustav Wang (Airtox-Carl Ras).

Norwegian Andre Drege (Team Repsol-Coop) takes the overall victory twelve seconds ahead of stage winner Alessandro Romele (Astana). Colin Stüssi is four seconds behind in third place, the next podium in a stage race this year after second place in the South Aegean Tour. Lukas Meiler finishes 19th in the final standings.
